Love on the Web was inspired by the dozen or so years I spent in software development, producing computer games and educational software An awful lot of the programmers I worked with were really bad at personal interaction, preferring to commune with their screens instead of the rest of us It was great fun to come up with Larry s co workers, who are each challenged in some way when it comes to finding romance or even just getting clean I also enjoyed researching the kind of apps that Larry Love on the Web was inspired by the dozen or so years I spent in software development, producing computer games and educational software An awful lot of the programmers I worked with were really bad at personal interaction, preferring to commune with their screens instead of the rest of us It was great fun to come up with Larry s co workers, who are each challenged in some way when it comes to finding romance or even just getting clean I also enjoyed researching the kind of apps that Larry s company would be developing, and the project he ends up working on with Julian And of course it was fun to describe Julian and the romance that develops between him and Larry

I received a copy of this title to read and review for Wicked Reads4 stars Love on the Web was an easy, fast paced read I read it from page one until the end in one sitting I was highly entertained and enjoyed being inside Larry s head A fresh graduate who was 6 and a feet tall, insecure over his looks, the youngest son but the middle child of 5, and trying to find his way through life Larry writes code for apps, where we meet a large array of his fellow employees and a gruff yet sweet empl I received a copy of this title to read and review for Wicked Reads4 stars Love on the Web was an easy, fast paced read I read it from page one until the end in one sitting I was highly entertained and enjoyed being inside Larry s head A fresh graduate who was 6 and a feet tall, insecure over his looks, the youngest son but the middle child of 5, and trying to find his way through life Larry writes code for apps, where we meet a large array of his fellow employees and a gruff yet sweet employer Between his roommates his frat brothers his family, his clients, and dealing with the man he wants and the man he can t get rid of, I was exhausted for poor Larry Just reading about him run ragged was making me tired and queasy The book takes us on a journey as Larry deals with a man using him at work because his naivete made him an easy target Meanwhile, he s partnered up with a man he s slowly falling for but unsure if it s requited We experience the ins and outs of getting a startup off the ground, while being torn this way and that by a day job and needy and zany family members I do need to mention, the excess of coding was mind bending After a few scenes of reading this, I began skimming anything pertaining to the instruction of how the website was being coded I know the author couldn t just say,I was working on the coding,as it wouldn t be authentic enough But Love on the Web was inundated with steps on how to code like an instruction manual I just zoned out when I came upon it, and feel slightly guilty over that, since the author clearly had a lot of knowledge in this area There were funny moments, sweet moments, awkward and painful moments, plenty of hot yet confusing moments, and then innocent yet romantic moments I enjoyed the read, and look forward to readingby this author

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads I have read a lot of MM although quite often they are written by a woman so it was interesting to read one clearly written by a man It was entertaining and I loved the geekiness imparted by the detailed information on coding and creating a website The issues with safety and what could and could not be contracted out even the issues of patents was fascinating but then I am a closet geek myself, so I loved it It di I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads I have read a lot of MM although quite often they are written by a woman so it was interesting to read one clearly written by a man It was entertaining and I loved the geekiness imparted by the detailed information on coding and creating a website The issues with safety and what could and could not be contracted out even the issues of patents was fascinating but then I am a closet geek myself, so I loved it It did make it a lot clearer why he would behave the way he did because really he wasn t entirely immersed in the same world as the rest of us and for that he was completely adorable His family were a great foil, although his patience was very impressive The relationship that was building gave me hope for his future It was a quick, mostly light, and fun read which was entertaining and memorable

This loosely linked series of romances set in Miami are not Neil s greatest works Their plots are not intended to be dramatic and the writing is workmanlike and blessedly simple but I confess that they re fun, and they all demonstrate Neil s personal fascination with character These seem to be personality studies, which is no surprise, given the importance of character in his other work Larry Leavis is a six foot six computer geek, but cuter than he thinks he is He has two brothers and two This loosely linked series of romances set in Miami are not Neil s greatest works Their plots are not intended to be dramatic and the writing is workmanlike and blessedly simple but I confess that they re fun, and they all demonstrate Neil s personal fascination with character These seem to be personality studies, which is no surprise, given the importance of character in his other work Larry Leavis is a six foot six computer geek, but cuter than he thinks he is He has two brothers and two sisters and a middle class family of no great complexity or sophistication Julian Argento is handsome prep school son of a self made Mexican millionaire Larry s right out of college and working for a web app firm full of odd characters He meets Julian through one of his roommates, and is asked to help develop a website on a freelance basis.Romance ensues, and quite adorably But Neil doesn t make things cleanly romantic Larry gets involved with another man, because he s young and horny and not really self confident enough not to be flattered by anyone who asks Julian sends very mixed messages, because, well, people do, you know There is a refreshing realness to Larry s character, and he s the one we really learn about in depth The other characters, including Julian, provide the background against which we understand Larry s gradual self empowerment in a very quiet way we watch him grow a pair and take charge of his own life An overarching motif I particularly liked was Larry s gradual coming out to his co workers, boss and family

Nice book I went on to read the next 3 The MC is a programmer I really enjoyed all the details of his work The guys work play a key role in the subsequent books as well, and I enjoyed reading about their jobs Plakcy seems to have a thing in these books where the guys enter inappropriate relationships i.e Programmer, client, employer, employee , but somehow I like the guys enough and their stories enough to accept it.

I struggled to connect with this one muchthan the other two books.I didn t get Larry at all The three guys were all young but I kind of got where Manny and Gavin were coming from and going too Larry was like a lost sheep, not knowing how to stop getting played by Victor and not sure how Julian was feeling though he was sending big mixed messages.

Wow, I m a bit disappointed with this book Sure I liked Larry, but his so called romance with Julian was definitely not romantic This story was personally to cold.
