This is a delightful novel about a group of US school boys who through hard work and dedication earn their pilots wings and become fighter pilots in WWI Although a bit contrived and with a whiff of propaganda about it, the story does convey the overly optimistic feelings towards war that the youth of that generation had before actually experiencing it the truth of which does not much rear its head in this story.
